Please note these are my ranking only of films I've seen. Any films you think should be on this list may be due to the fact I've yet to watch them. I welcome any recommendations of films which should be included.
1. 12 Monkeys - In my opinion, Terry Gilliam's most satisfying work, a dizzying time travel delight.
2. Toy Story - A wonderful animated adventure - amazing graphics fill this story with heart.
3. Apollo 13 - A very solid, tense drama. A gripping account of a potential real-life tragedy.
4. Before Sunrise - Colorful locales and great characters will have you believe it's possible to fall in love in one night.
5. Braveheart - Mel Gibson's blood-and-guts tribute to William Wallace. Gorgeous and moving.
6. Casino - It's a tribute to Scorsese when critics call this a less work for him, especially when it's still one of the year's best.
7. Crimson Tide - Two powerhouse actors in a game of cat and mouse makes this drama overflow with tension and intrigue.
8. Get Shorty - Perhaps the most purely entertaining film of the year -- never misses a comedic beat.
9. The Usual Suspects - Oodles of cast chemistry and a winning script, plus one hell of a nifty ending, makes this one to remember.
10. Heat - Pacino and De Niro acting together is a dream come true, and Michael Mann crafts another thoughtful, well-made drama.
