Car Wash (1976)
A day in the life of a car wash in Los Angeles, with many converging stories, many of them funny. Funky music, crazy cabdrivers, crooked preachers, and mad bombers abound.
Quintessential 70s black comedy is a 70s slice-of-life classic, but it’s only an ok film. Carlin and Pryor are more or less wasted with unfunny roles. The rest of the cast is fine, and although the film seems to be pointless, it’s a fun and entertaining film nonetheless.
Terrific soundtrack provided by Rose Royce, who donate their best work for the film. Don’t expect much before watching and you’ll have a good time.
