Wheels on Meals ***1/2 (out of 5) (1984)

In Spain, a couple of mobile chinese food cooks and an amateur detective do what they can to protect a thieving prostitute from a Count and his henchmen, who want to protect their inheritance from going to her should she claim it within 14 days.

It's hard to believe that director and costar Hung later would later direct the horrid MR. NICE GUY by seeing the skill to which he handled this entertaining comedy-action vehicle here. The film is laugh-out-loud funny at times, with stunning action setpieces, and extremely likeable and charismatic stars. Although he's only one of the Three Amigos in this film, I think this may be the best film I've seen Chan in to date. OK, so some of the humor is unoriginal, basically taking age-old and oft-told jokes and plagiarizing them into the movie, and perhaps the film does need to be trimmed about 20 minutes, but there's no denying that there's a lot of fun and excitement keep your interest.
