Singles (1992)

Singles doesn’t have much of a plot to speak of. Basically it’s just about six Seattle twenty-somethings and their interrelated stories about their search for love.

Singles is a frustrating film to watch. Not because it’s bad, but because it flirts so much with being good that it’s ultimately a let-down that it just never really takes it to the next level.

Although writer-director Cameron Crowe (Say Anything, Jerry Maguire) sprinkles insightful moments here and there which keep things lively, he never seems to be able to string them together in a series of compelling moments.

How much you enjoy this film will be greatly influenced by your feelings towards the actors and especially the grunge music which permeates the soundtrack nonstop.
