I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
…and I still don’t care what you did last summer.
Julie (Hewitt), one of the survivors from the first film, tries to get herself together but is still having nightmares about her traumatic experience with the Gorton’s fisherman. Her roommate (Brandy) wins a trip for four to the Bahamas, and Julie is invited along, but her boyfriend Ray won’t go along (you get the feeling Prinze Jr. was a late addition to the film) so Will (Settle), another of her roommate’s friends takes his place. She soon discovers there’s nowhere to run and nowhere to hide as the mysterious killer shows up for real.
Damn near unwatchable and just as unnecessary and idiotic as the first slasher flick. We have a different director (Cannon) and writer (Callaway) for this sequel, but there’s still no explanation for the seemingly omniscient and omnipotent serial killer. Basically the film is merely an excuse to titillate with more booga-booga and slash-and-gash.
Absolute nonsense from beginning to end, and will likely insult anyone who has at least half a brain. The fact that it’s not even scary in the slightest is unforgivable. The only reason I would want to have another sequel is to see what they’ll call it. How about I’m Still a Big Pile of Cinematic Feces?
